Hartselle Native Chad Girodo has been promoted from AA to AAA in the Toronto Blue Jays baseball organization.

He joined the AAA Buffalo Bisons on Tues., Sept. 1, and pitched a scoreless inning the next day. He left the AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats where he posted a 4-2 won-lost record and maintained a .094 earned run average.

Girodo, a left-hander, was drafted by the Blue Jays in 2013 after racking up an outstanding pitching career with the Hartselle High School Tigers.  As a minor league professional player, he has compiled a 12-6 record.

“I was happy to get moved up,” Girodo said. “It gets me one step closer to playing at the major league level.”

Girodo said he is one of seven players from the entire Blue Jays organization to be invited to play in the Arizona Fall Baseball League following the regular season.

“I’ll be home for a couple of weeks before I report out there,” he said.
