Funeral for the Rev. Melvin E. Brown, 85, of Lacey’s Spring will be Sun., Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Don Trosper and Bro. Gerald Case officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery.
The Rev. Brown died Wed., Sept. 2, 2015. He was born July 29, 1930, in Morgan County to Warren Brown and Eura Worley Brown. He was a minister of the Gospel for over 50 years. He was a sales manager for Singer Sewing Machine Company for 18 years until retiring. He was also co-owner of Brown and Worley Auto Crushers and owner of Brown Scrap Materials. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Elree Campbell Brown of Lacey’s Spring; a son, Keith Campbell of Madison; three daughters, Teresa Brown of Lacey’s Spring, Melissa Patrick (Tim) of Somerville and Karen Mayer (Harley, Jr.) of Lacey’s Spring; two brothers, Charles Brown of Somerville and Cecil Brown of Somerville; two sisters, Cherie Johnson and Madgie Schofield, both of Somerville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
