High School gifted students participated with other students around the State of Alabama in the Color the Concepts competition, sponsored by the Alabama Council on Economic Education and State Farm. The purpose of this competition was to give students a chance to learn and demonstrate their knowledge of economic concepts in a creative and fun way.

Two of HJHS students placed in the Top 10 middle school category in this statewide project. Heather Grimes and Audrey Woodruff, eighth grade students at Hartselle Junior High School, received top honors.

Heather is the daughter of Greg and Amy Grimes. Audrey is the daughter of Jeff and Beth Woodruff.
