Cast our cares upon Him

How often do you and I worry? With me, it’s more than the sands in the sea. How do we avoid all the stress and worries that seem to bombard us each day? In I Peter 5:7 Peter instructs us how by casting our care upon him; for he careth for you. When we take things into our own hands, we are not placing our trust in God. Don’t allow the presence of stress, worry and problems consume you but rather submit them to God who already has it under control.

Happy anniversary wishes go out to Joe and Janice Roberts on May 3, Bill and Mary Montgomery on May 4, Will and Tara Summerford, Ricky and Peggy Phillips and Jim and Pam Roberts, all on May 5.

Happy birthday to Bill Davis and Jarrod Fortinberry, both on May 1, Maggie Brown, Karlei Pence and Vanessa Brown, all on May 2, Laura Hodo on May 3, Benny Brown and Vivian Wilson, both on May 4 and Illene Smith on May 5.

I recently attended my 40th high school class reunion of Morgan County High School, and it was great to see those who came and we missed those who didn’t. There was a special tribute to those we have lost since our graduation of May 1975. A special thank you for those who worked to put it all together–you did a great job.

On Sun., May 10, we will observe Mother’s Day. I would like to take the opportunity to wish my mother, Evelyn Motes, a happy Mother’s Day. There aren’t enough words to express my appreciation for what you mean to me. Thank you so much for your love and support, but most of all for your Godly influence. Love you much, Javon.
