Hartselle Heritage under new ownership

Jeffrey Brown, 55, has been in the funeral home business since he was 14, and he is finally getting to realize a life-long dream of owning his own funeral home.

He recently purchased Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home from Green River Enterprises.

The fifth generation funeral home businessman said Hartselle Heritage would continue to offer quality service.

“We are going to continue to offer the best personal service we can,” Brown said. “The ownership and management is the only thing to change, so the services and experience offered here will remain the same.”

Former manager Mac Beard is no longer with Hartselle Heritage.

Brown’s family has been in the funeral home business in Morgan County since 1855. He was previously with Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, which was started by his father. He moved to Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville in 2009 before coming on board at Hartselle Heritage last week.

“It was really just the right time and the right opportunity for me,” Brown said. “We really hope to build the business up and get folks to notice the quality services we have to offer.”

Brown’s business partner is Diane Copeland.
