MC Softball Tournament starts Thursday

The Morgan County Softball tournament will kick off Thursday at Wilson Morgan Park with host Austin High School.

Thursday’s games will all be pool play to determine each team’s seed for the bracket play Friday and Saturday.

Pool A consists of Austin, Decatur Heritage and Priceville. Pool B consists of Decatur, West Morgan and Brewer. Pool C consists of Hartselle, Falkville and Danville.

Teams will be seeded based on head-to-head records, run differential, runs given up, runs scored and a coin toss, respectively.

Games start at 4 p.m. Thursday with Austin vs. Decatur Heritage, Decatur vs. West Morgan and Hartselle vs. Falkville. Games at 5:30 p.m. will include Austin vs. Priceville, Decatur vs. Brewer and Hartselle vs. Danville. Games at 7 p.m. will include Decatur Heritage vs. Priceville, West Morgan vs. Brewer and Falkville vs. Danville.

Friday’s games will start at 4 p.m. The championship game will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

The JV Morgan County Tournament will be going on simultaneously with pool play Thursday and single elimination bracket play Friday and Saturday. The JV tournament will be seeded the same as the varsity tournament.

The seven JV teams will be in two pools. Pool A is Austin, Brewer, Decatur and West Morgan, and Pool B is Hartselle, Danville and Priceville.

JV pool play will start at 4 p.m. with Austin vs. Brewer, West Morgan vs. Decatur and Hartselle vs. Danville. Games at 5:30 p.m. will include Austin vs. Decatur, West Morgan vs. Brewer and Hartselle vs. Priceville. Danville will face Priceville at 7 p.m.

JV bracket play will start at 7 p.m. Friday. Semifinals will be Saturday at 11 a.m., and the championship game will follow at 12:30 p.m.

Entry is $5 per person each day.
