Hartselle woman arrested for drugs
A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a Hartselle woman for drug charges March 25.
Members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit were patrolling the area of Danville Road and Stone River SW when Officer Michael Kitchens conducted a traffic stop for a turn signal violation.
During the course of the investigation, a back seat passenger of the vehicle was identified as Leslie Marie Cooper, 31, of 1203 Leneer St. in Hartselle. After further investigation, Cooper was found to be in possession of a quantity of prescription medication without a valid prescription.
Cooper was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. She was transported to the Decatur City Jail where she was processed. She will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail with a $3,000 bond.
