Hartselle Tigers defeat Thompson

Hartselle’s baseball Tigers improved their season re cord to 6-2 with an 8-7 win over Thompson High School Tues., March 3, on the road.

The Tigers jumped ahead 7-0 after 3 innings and added their final run in the fifth. Thompson bounced back with four runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth

Hayden Bradford paced Hartselle at the plate with a double and single, two RBIs and a walk. Collins Hanners added three singles, three RBIs and two runs.

Will Foote drew two walks and had two RBIs. Collin Blackwood had three singles, Tate Mathis had a triple, two singles and scored twice. Zeth Malcolm singled and walked twice while Brady Netherton singled.

Mason Towers allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out two batters and walking two in four innings. Ben Kimbrough relieved and pitched thee innings. He allowed three runs on six hits while striking out four batters.
