Praying for Colt’s healing

On Feb. 14, we observed a day set aside where we exchanged Valentines and other tokens of affection.

Many expressed their love for that special someone with cards, candy, flowers or maybe a special dinner.

In John 3:16 we find: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

He loves us so much that He was willing to give His life for us. Had he not done that we could not have eternal life.

Next, we must decide whether we want to accept or reject His love for us.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Milton and JoAnn Montgomery in the loss of Milton’s brother, Letrell Montgomery.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Kody Vest in the loss of his grandfather, Walter Vest.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the Rev. Curtis Stanford.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Steve and Amber Robinson in the passing of Steve’s grandmother, Gaynell Ryan.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Eddie and Kim Letson in the passing of Hazel Scott.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Ricky Blackwood in the passing of his mother, Betty Blackwood.

Many of you know that I am a firm believer in prayer. I received a phone call recently requesting all to place 12-year-old Colt Beavers on your prayer list. He is at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham after he was involved in an automobile accident Sat., Feb. 14.

Also involved was Colt’s dad, James Daniel Beavers, his sister, Marlee Beavers and Kyle Pontolillo and Dakota Dinges, both of Waynesboro, Tenn. For condition, updates and information on fundraising efforts go to “Prayer for Colt” Facebook community page.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Elise Elliott, Carli Lacy, Beth Morgan and Denise Ratje, all on Feb. 26, Emily Ratje, Diane Robinson, Patsy Rodgers, Corey Loney and James Lemmond, all on Feb. 27, and Kelly Cross, Madxgael Graham and Karley Vest, all on March 1.

Happy birthday to my brother-in-law, Mike Widener, who celebrated his birthday on Feb. 28. Hope you are enjoying retirement.

It’s that time again, Daylight Saving Time begins March 8. Don’t forget to spring forward one hour on Saturday night before you go to bed.
