Area tournaments set for next week

The Alabama High School Athletic Association has set the area tournaments for local basketball teams.

In Class 6A, Area 14, Hartselle’s girls will take on Cullman in the semifinals Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. at Austin. Hartselle’s boys will take on host Cullman Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. The girls final is Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. while the boys final will be Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.

In Class 6A, Area 15, Brewer’s girls and boys teams will take on Arab Feb. 3 at 5 and 7 p.m. at Lee High School, respectively. The winners play host Lee Feb. 6 at 5 and 7 p.m.

Priceville hosts the girls tournament in Class 4A, Area 14. The Lady Bulldogs take on North Jackson in the semifinals Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. The final will be Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. The boys team will take on North Jackson Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. at Westminster Christian. The finals will be Feb. 7 at 5 p.m.

In Class 4A, Area 13, Danville’s girls and boys take on Haleyville at Hamilton Feb. 2 at 6 and 7:30 p.m., respectively. The championships will be Feb. 5 at 6 and 7:30 p.m.

Cold Springs will host Class 2A, Area 14. Falkville’s girls will take on Tanner Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. The finals will be Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. The boys team also faces Tanner Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. with the finals being played Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
