Heed God’s warning on sin

In the book of Lamentations, we find where Jeremiah was deeply troubled over Judah’s unwillingness to serve God.

In His word, God warns about sin and the consequences that follow when we disobey Him. When we are unfaithful, we must pray for forgiveness and God is faithful to restore our relationship with Him.

He is the only one that can deliver us from our sins, and without Him, there is no hope for us. With the ultimate sacrifice of God’s only son and his faithful promise to return, we do have hope through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Lou Heath, Hunter Austin Smith and Cathy Alexander on Nov. 27, Tommy Adcock, Kathy Hines, Ryan Ogle, Allen Boyer and Patsy Peebles on Nov. 29 and Billy Ray Shadden on Nov. 30.

Happy anniversary to Michael and Catherine Woodard on Nov. 27, Cecil and Staci Segler on Nov. 28, Lloyd and Dean Sullivan on Nov. 30.

Most of the time when we think of Thanksgiving the first thing that comes to mind is a big slice of juicy turkey, sweet potato casserole, green beans, rolls, cranberry sauce and a big table loaded down with all sorts of desserts. That all sounds good but I’m reminded first and foremost how we need to be thankful for all that we have been blessed with this year.
