A memorial service for Duaine L. Heartin La Grande, 79, of Le Grande, Oregon will be held in December and a burial service will take place in Illinois.

Mrs. Heart died Oct. 14, 2014, at a local care facility. She was born Sept. 19, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Magna Ballering. She lived and worked in Illinois until retirement, moving to Hartselle in 2006. In October 2013, she moved to Oregon to be closer to family. She was a member of the New Beginnings Quilt Guild, the Newcomers Group, and the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

She is survived by a daughter, Marita Somerville of Oregon; a son, Michael Quaranta of Delaware; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
