Midnight Madness to kick off basketball season

HHS Basketball will host “Midnight Madness” Sunday night at the HHS gym to celebrate the official start of the 2014-2015 basketball season.

“Midnight Madness” will feature student games, music, competitions and prizes, including a free season pass to all home games. All girls and boys high school basketball team members will be introduced. The school teams will have three short scrimmages starting at 12:01 a.m. and compete in a 3-point shootout.

Festivities start Sunday at 11 p.m. and end at 1 a.m. Parents and students are invited to join the late night fun since there is no school Monday or Tuesday.

Admission is free, and concessions will be sold. The schedule is as follows:

11:00-11:10 Student Game (layup dress up)

11:10-11:20 3-point Shootout JV boys vs. Varsity boys (winner plays girls champ) & JV girls vs. Varsity girls (winner plays boys champ)

11:20-11:30 Student Game (musical chairs with a layup)

11:30-11:40 Student Game (relay competitions – dribbler, layup, free throw, 3-point with two teams of four)

11:40-11:50 Cheerleaders

 11:50-12:00 Student Game (Gotcha- 10 person teams)

*Introduce all players at the start of the scrimmages

12:01-12:15 JV boys vs. Freshman boys

12:15-12:30 JV girls vs. Varsity girls

12:30-12:45 JV boys vs. Varsity boys
