Fairview youth pastor honored on birthday

Seth Coleman, youth pastor at Fairview: The Grace Place, was honored on his birthday Sept. 16.

The party was given by the youth of the church and was held in the fellowship hall. The party table was spread with a blue cloth and had yellow and blue balloons with matching streamers.

The honoree was served birthday cake, soft drinks and pizza. Forty to 50 youth attended.

Falkville Public Library will conduct a book sale Oct. 11 during the Fall Festival. The sale will begin at 8:30 a.m. Books will be sold for $5 per bag.

Hudson Allen Ferrell turned 1 on Sept. 11. Zac and Michelle Ferrell were proud to host his first birthday party Sat., Sept. 13, at their home.

The birthday boy wore a special T-shirt with a Chevron white and teal striped one wearing a black mustache. The party theme was black mustaches accented with teal, green and blue tablecloths and balloons.

Guests were served pizza, chips and punch. They also indulged in chocolate cupcakes with frosting decorated with black mustaches.

Many friends and family attended including grandparents Jerry and Robin Ferrell and Jimmy Teague.

On Sunday evening Sept. 21, First Baptist Church Falkville hosted a Fall Celebration Fellowship. Attendees tailgated with food, fellowship and games.

A little competition was held on who could set-up the best tailgate. The winner was Mr. James, winning with a unique duck-hunting theme. The evening was a success with wonderful food and fellowship.

Belated birthday wishes are extended to Jenny Kelso from Falkville Senior Center.

Hint – Cashew nuts are related to poison ivy, which is why you never see cashew nuts in the shell.

Congratulations to the Falkville Blue Devils for their win over West Morgan, 42-35.

The annual Falkville Festival will be held Oct. 11. The events will kick off with a pancake breakfast. There will be food vendors, bingo and other events.

Libby’s Restaurant at Priceville was the setting for a Falkville Class of 1952 breakfast meeting. Among those eating breakfast with the group were Bob and Charlotte Wise, Ray and Betty Sanders, Kenneth and Betty Harpe, Franklin and Sue Harrison, Howard and Helen Gibson and Sarah Gaines and one guest, Shirley Cooper.
