HHS Cross Country places at mid-week meet

Hartselle’s Varsity girls and boys cross country teams placed ninth and sixth overall, respectively, in the McFarland Dash by the River 5K in Florence Sept. 11.

Sophomore Billie Shelton finished first for Hartselle’s girls and 13th overall with a time of 22:16. Other scoring finishers were junior Reagan Bowling, 24:30; senior Jessica Hickerson, 25:31; senior Stephanie Roman, 28:27; senior Ivy Buchanan, 28:28 and junior Madeline Zanda, 28:46.

The girls had an average time of 25:50.

Senior Johnathan Duncan finished first overall with a time of 17:22. Other scoring finishers were senior Chase Barrett, 18:59; junior Timothy Ammons, 19:43; freshman Liam Davis, 21:14; freshman Charlie Ord, 21:31; sophomore Tyler Dolbeer, 21:41 and junior Matt Green, 22:31.

The boys had an average time of 19:46.

The JV boys team came in second overall with a low score of 50 and an average time of 13:27 in their two-mile race. Scoring finishers were eighth grader Eric Rabadan, 12:32; freshman Addison Zanda, 12:45; freshman Preston Smith, 13:39; seventh grader Kirk Morris, 14:02; eighth grader Hudson Sneed, 14:17; seventh grader Hawken Foote, 14:36 and seventh grader Jarrod Galloway, 15:02.

The JV girls team placed third overall with a low score of 74 and an average time of 16:27 in their two-mile race. Scoring finishers were eighth grader Macie Holder, 15:01; seventh grader Madison Clemons, 15:25; eighth grader Mary Elizabeth Adams, 16:38; eighth grader Anna Wilson, 17:04; seventh grader Samantha Borglum, 18:08; eighth grader Kirby Austill, 19:38 and eighth grader Emma Bennich, 20:22.
