Funeral for Colonel Dee Proctor USA, Retired, 85, of Hartselle will be Fri., Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines and Charles Curtis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Fri., Sept. 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Proctor died Wed., Sept. 17, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born February 7, 1929, in Morgan County to Lester and Mattie Proctor.

He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with Charlie Company 1343 Combat Engineers. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1946-1948 where he was discharged as a Lance Corporal. He served in the Alabama National Guard from 1950-1984 where he retired as commander of the 1169 Engineer Group. He worked as a draftsman at Redstone arsenal and NASA. He was a co-owner of C&S Supermarket, and retired in 2001. He was a member and past president of the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a member and past president of Hartselle Kiwanis Club. Mr. Proctor was immediate past president of the Morgan County Port Authority, and past president of the Morgan County Industrial Development Association. He was a member and elder at the Hartselle Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Clemons Proctor; one son, Mike Proctor (Kristin); one daughter, Denise Wigginton (Cooper); two granddaughters, Macy Wigginton and Lauren Draper Peterson (Rory).

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and his grandson, Chris Proctor.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Hartselle Church of Christ.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Romania mission work of the Hartselle Church of Christ.
