Beatrice Ford Wilks

Funeral for Beatrice Ford Wilks, 87, of Decatur was Tues., Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doyle Thomas officiating.

Burial was in Caddo Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilks died Sat., Sept. 13, 2014, at her residence. She was born March 29, 1927, in Morgan County to David Thurman and Lizzie Lattrice Holmes Ford. She was a telephone operator for South Central Bell for 34 years and a faithful member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Gibson and Irvin Wilks; her parents; a brother, Daily Ford; and a sister, Anne Dunn.

She is survived by a son, Mike Gibson (Anita); a daughter, Judy Ferguson (Marcus); four stepsons, Ted Wilks (Nell), Ricky Wilks, Tim Wilks (Connie) and Alan Wilks; a stepdaughter, Charlene Tidwell; two brothers, Charles Ford (Glenda), Edsel Ford (Johnnie); a sister, Marie Johnson; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy Dunn, Jonathan Ryan, Darrell Ford, Tim Wilks, Shawn McNeill and Zac Cadle.
