Priceville loses opener, goes 3-2 at West Morgan

Priceville’s Lady Bulldogs lost to West Morgan in their season-opener Thursday but rebounded by winning three of five games they played in the West Morgan Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

In their home opener, the Lady Bulldogs fell to the West Morgan Lady Rebels 18-25, 22-25 and 14-25. Shyanne Stackhouse recorded 10 blocks and six kills, Alison Varner scored eight kills and eight blocks and Tori Vehrs had 10 assists.

In tournament matches, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Holly Pond 25-13, 25-7, Hatton 25-16, 14-25 and 15-12 and Lee 25-11, 25-20. They fell to Brewer 20-15,25-22 and 14-16 and Randolph 8-15, 7-25.

In tournament action, Varner had 26 kills, Stackhouse had 18 kills and 23 blocks, Ashlee Quinn had 18 blocks, Vehrs had 28 assists, Amanda Rotermund had 17 assists and Whittney Clark had 23 digs.
