Firearms Safety Day set Aug. 21
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and Priceville Public Safety Department will co-host a Public Safety Awareness Day Thur., Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Priceville Senior Center by Veterans Park.
Residents are invited to bring firearms for inspection. Officers will check for visual defects, capacity of firing modern ammo, use of correct ammo for each weapon and suggestions will be offered for the type of ammo needed for defense.
In addition, Priceville Councilman Jerry Welch and Cpl. Herman Davis will be giving away 250 firearm safety locks, collecting all old and obsolete ammunition for disposal, assisting residents with completion of concealed weapons permit applications and reviewing current gun laws.
Morgan County Sheriff Anna Franklin will be present if her schedule will permit.
