Vernon James Reed

A graveside service for Vernon James Reed, 57, of Falkville was Wed., July 30, at 3 p.m. at Herring Cemetery with Bro. Aaron Warnick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Reed died Sun., July 27, 2014, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1957, in Mercer County, PA. to Wilmer James Reed and Hester Starcher Reed. He was a welder for the Modern Playground Company and was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Reed of Falkville; two sons, James Reed of Texas and Steven Reed of Florida; a daughter, Sheena Reddy of Florida; three step-sons, Chris Borden of Falkville, Michael Borden, Somerville, and Charles Borden of Massey, a step-daughter, Vanessa Borden of Falkville; a brother, Harley Reed, Falkville; two sisters, Gladys Lindley of Hartselle and Della Lindley of Falkville; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
