The William Bradford Huie Library in Hartselle’s annual summer reading program is now in full swing.

The program is a lot of fun for children, and the turn out is great every year. Close to 100 children come to the Library on Tuesdays in July to participate in the reading program.

The theme of this year’s program is “Fizz! Boom! Read!” and it brings a theme of science into the program. The program features performers, reading contests and many other fun activities. July 1featured snow cones and crazy science experiments. July 8 will feature special tricks from special friends.

On July 15 Chris Keenum will teach the kids about animal science. July 22 will welcome magicians Archie and Mary Wade, and July 29 will introduce a brand new program called “Camouflage and Color.”

These programs and performers are a blast for the kids and encourage them all to read and read often. Librarian Emily Love would like to encourage all children to participate in the summer reading program. It is a fun and educational experience for all ages.

“Friends of the Library” sponsor the program. The William Bradford Huie Library is located at 152 Sparkman Street N.W. For more information, contact the library at 256-303-9880.
