Several local golfers competed in the 47th annual Daikin Spirit of America Golf Championship this past weekend at Burningtree Country Club.

Jimmy Reist and Garrett Reist, both of Hartselle, made it to the final day of the tournament after both posted scores of eightover- par over the first three days of the tournament.

Jimmy Reist was tied for 44th place with a 299 (71-71-79-77) while Garrett Reist was 48th overall with 300 (73-73-75-79).

Hartselle’s Jake Tiffin missed the cut by one shot, finishing 11-over-par through 54 holes. After making par 71 in Round 1, he finished eight-over par in Round 2 and three-over-par in Round 3.

Dana Amberson of Hartselle also finished 84th overall with 15-over-par while Robbie Fields was 88th overall with 16-over-par.

Blake Hampton of Hartselle posted 78 in each of his rounds while Colton Key had rounds of 79, 79 and 77.

Tyler Berry rounded out the local golfers competing in the tournament with 81, 79 an 80.

John-Michael O’Toole won the championship by finishing eight-under par.
