FBC sets VBS program

Vacation Bible school will be held at First Baptist Church Falkville June 23 through June 27 for children age 4 to youth. The time is 5 until 8:30 p.m. For more information, phone 256-784-5827.

First Baptist Church Falkville extends birthday wishes to Alan Thompson on June 16, Jane Ann Lee on June 17, Don Morris on June 19 and Bonnie Thompson on June 23.

A lunch and brunch group met at Libby’s Restaurant at Priceville for a get-together lunch. Among those enjoying this fellowship were Kathy Gray, Wilma Depreast, J. L. and Ann Sanders, Kenneth and Peggy McCellan, Howard and Helen Gibson, Marie McClellan and Jo Ann. Others attending were Clif and Mary Jane Hatfield, Jean Turner and Ray and Betty Sanders.

Cooper Williams celebrated his sixth birthday on June 9 at the home of his parents, Austin and Crystal Williams. The party room was decorated as a Falkville Blue Devils football field. The 40 guests were served fruit, chips, dips, ice cream and a football-decorated birthday cake.

Rev. Greg Burcham conducted a baby dedication at First Baptist Church Falkville. Among those dedicated were Hudson Ferrell, nine months. son of Zac and Michelle Ferrell; Henry Holcombe, 11 months, son of James and Gayle Holcombe; and Gunnter Halbrooks, one year, son of Chad and Maebec Halbrooks. Children’s Day was observed during the worship hour.

Patrick Smith, youth minister at First Baptist Church, was ordained Sunday. night, June 8. Rev. Greg Burcham and the deacons conducted the service.
