FBC to hold outside worship

A spring celebration and picnic will be held Sun., May 18, with an outside worship service at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Falkville. This will be a community and church member’s event. Everyone is asked to bring side dishes and desserts. Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided. For more information, phone 256-784-5827.

Fairview: The Grace Place will conduct a midnight 5K run Fri., May 16, with starting time at 11:59 p.m. Proceeds will go to Carpenter’s Cabinet. For more information, phone 256-784-5642.

The Danville High School competed in tthe state track meet May 2 and 3 at Selma. Winners are as follows:

Shelby Ziegler qualified in the 100 meter hurdles, triple jump and 4x100m. Briley Morris qualified in the long jump, triple jump and 4x100m. Kaitee Henderson qualified in the 300m hurdles, high jump, long jump and 4x100m. Kara McLemore qualified in the 4x100m.

Slater Robinson qualified in the javelin and 4x100m relay. Brandon McCormick qualified in the 400m dash and 4x100m relay.

Dallas McAbee qualified in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 110m hurdles, and 4x100m relay. Dallas came in 1st in the 200m dash.

DJ Batts qualified in the high jump, long jump, triple jump, and 4x100m relay. DJ came in first with the long jump with a jump of 20 feet, 9 inches. Chris Mahr qualified in shot put.

Ryan Boothby qualifed in the 110m and 300m hurdles.
