David E. McAnally

Funeral for David E. McAnally, 96, of Somerville will be Fri., May 9, at 11 a.m. at Valhermoso First Christian Church with Pastor Mickey Johnson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., May 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. McAnally died Wed., May 7, 2014, at River City Care & Rehab. He was born Sept. 20, 1917, in Morgan County to Luther McAnally and Ruth Chunn McAnally. He was a lifelong member of Valhermoso Springs First Christian Church. He served in the CC Camp in Tishimingo, Miss. He was the Night Superintendent for Monsanto Chemical Company until his retirement and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bernice Cryer McAnally; a grandson, Jon David McAnally; two sisters; and one brother.

He is survived by a son, David Ray McAnally (Pat) of Decatur; a daughter, Sherry Holmes (Jeff) of Somerville; a brother, Elliott McAnally (Pat) of Lacey’s Spring; two grandchildren, Brandy Bedingfield (Scott) and Dwain Holmes; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Bedingfield, Kalyn Bedingfield, Allie Bedingfield, Graham Duncan, Lanie Sue McAnally and Faith Holmes.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bedingfield, Jacob Bedingfield, Byron Jones, Dwight Jones, Mark McAnally and Greg Jones.
