Danville boys tie for third, girls take fifth

Dallas McAbee won first place in the 200m dash to pace Danville for a third place finish during the Class 3A, Section 4 meet at Winfield High School.

The girls also finished third, as Winfield ran away with both the boys and girls titles.

He and Brandon McCormick were fifth and eighth in the 100m dash. McCormick took fifth place in the boys 400m.

DJ Batts won the boys long jump, took second place in the high jump and finished fourth in the triple jump.

Slater Robinson was second in the javelin and eighth in the triple jump.

McAbee and Ryan Boothby were fifth and eighth in the 100m hurdles. Boothby was also sixth place in the 300m hurdles.

Danville’s 4x100m relay team of Batts , McAbee, McCormick and Robinson took third place. Kaleb Bolton, Will Mansell, Nick Prater and Kaleb Vest were seventh in the 4x400m relay event.

Bolton, Braden Cox, Prater and Ryan Stover earned eighth place in the 4x800m relay.

Chris Mahr was seventh in the discus to earn a spot at state.

Kaitee Henderson posted a second place finishes in the high jump and the long jump.

Briley Morris took second in the triple jump and fourth place in the long jump.

Shelby Ziegler was fourth in the 100m hurdles and fifth in the triple jump.

Kara McLemore added an eighth place finish in the 800m.

Danville’s 4x800m relay team of Kourtney Lindsey, Esthefany Morales, Cierra Odom and Bethanie Vest finished sixth in the 4x800m relay.

Henderson, McLemore, Morris and Ziegler combined for an eighth place finish in the 4x100m relay.
