Huntingdon College Choir to perform in Hartselle
The Huntingdon College Concert Choir will perform in Hartselle Wednesday during a spring choir tour.
First stopping in Hartselle, the choir will sing for Hartselle High School during the day and will perform a free public concert at Hartselle United Methodist Church Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Huntingdon Concert Choir is comprised of 34 students who represent nearly every major offered at Huntingdon, including the College’s Music and Music Education programs.
The repertoire for the concert tour includes “Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre; “Gentle Annie,” written by Stephen Foster and arranged by Robert Lau; “Porgy and Bess Choral Highlights,” written by George Gershwin and arranged by Douglas E. Wagner; “Sure On This Shining Night,” by Morten Lauridsen; “Ascribe to the Lord,” by Rosephanye Dunn-Powell; and “Make Our Garden Grow” from Candide,
Leonard Bernstein. The choir is directed by Dr. Jennifer Canfield and accompanied on piano by Huntingdon sophomore Caleb Hart.
