Funeral for Glenn Free, 63, of Decatur will be Sat., March 22, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brad Roath and Bro. Gary Peebles officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Mt Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., March 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Free died Wed., March 19, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1950, in Morgan County to Calvin Free and Elizabeth Lawrimore Free. Mr. Free was a deacon of Ark Baptist Church and was a wonderful man of God, whose desire was for people to focus on God. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved Bluegrass Gospel Music. He retired from Matthews Industries where he worked as the Sheet Metal Department Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Free of Decatur; two daughters, Amanda Free Holladay (Thomas) of Orlando, Fla. and Caren Free Lawrence (Nathan) of Decatur; three brothers, Tom Free, Charles Free and Dennis (Dinky) Free, all of Hartselle; a sister, Deborah Free Childs of Eva; four grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Sydney and Troy.
Pallbearers will be Myles Reed, Jimmy Hazel, Glenn Sparkman, C.K. Nolen, Ellis Taylor and Bill Gist.
