Bethel JV boys win state

Bethel’s JV boys (17-3) won their second state championship in three years.

Bethel entered the ACEA JV State Tournament in Tuscaloosa as the No. 1 overall seed and did not disappoint. The Bobcats defeated Trinity Christian 30-26 in the first round.

Bethel was led in scoring Sam Murphy and Trentin Dupper with 12 each.

They advanced to play Cornerstone Christian in the championship game. Bethel jumped out to a six-point first quarter lead and did not look back, with a final score 49-36.

Bethel was led in scoring by Sam Murphy with 19, Mac Murphy and Trentin Dupper with 14. Both were named to the all-tournament team and Dupper was named the tournaments MVP.
