Bethel girls finish second at state

Bethel’s girls basketball team (8-7) ended their season finishing second in the ACEA State Tournament, making their first appearance since 2004.

Bethel defeated Conecuh Springs Christian 32-28, advancing to face Cornerstone Christian in the Championship.

Bethel lost to Cornerstone 38-23 to finish runner up.

During the tournament, Bethel was led in scoring by Cassie Bunner with 17, Savannah Markham with 15 and Kelly Thraser with 12.

Bunner and Thrasher was named to the All-tournament team.

Bethel looks forward to making a run at a State Title next year with six players returning.
