Spring clean-up planned

Morgan County commissioners and Morgan County Adopt-A-Mile are again hosting their annual spring clean-up for residents of Morgan County.

You will be able to bring those unwanted items to a district shop the week of April 21-26, or take them to the Morgan County Landfill at no charge.

Landfill hours are Mon.-Fri., 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. On Sat., April 26, the district shops will be open to serve the public and help unload items.

District 1, Commissioner Jeff Clark, 256-353-8783, located on Central Parkway below the Railroad Overpass on the Beltline, will be open Saturday only, from 7 to 11 a.m. District 2, Commissioner Randy Vest, 256-773-7383, located on Shull Road in Hartselle will be open Mon.-Thurs., from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. District 3, Commissioner Don Stisher, 256-784-5476, located on Hwy. 55, East of Falkville, will be open Mon.-Thur., from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat., 7 to 11 a.m.

District 4, Commissioner Greg Abercrombie, 256-778-8515, located on Union Hill Road, will be open Mon.-Thur. from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sat., 7 to 11 a.m.

Items not accepted are shingles, tires, household garbage, lumber or hazardous chemicals.
