Funeral for Jimmy “Shorty” Jones, 71, of Hillsboro will be Wed., Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Fanning officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jones died Sun., Feb. 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born March 29, 1942, in Lawrence County to James Edward Jones Sr. and Earline Brown. He was a former employee of General Motors (Delphi Corporation) as a jobsetter. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones of Hillsboro; a son, Jimmy Chad Jones of Hillsboro; three brothers, Dallas Jones of Hartselle, Jackie Jones of Trinity and Billy Jones of Decatur; two sisters, Linda Bunnel of Somerville,and Brenda Howard of Decatur; and two grandchildren, Zack Jones and Tyler Jones.

Pallbearers will be Zack Jones, Tyler Jones, Justin Phillips, Griffin Stanford, Rod Millwood, and Greg Millwood.
