Warrant results in three arrests

A man and two women were arrested in Morgan City on Monday and charged with multiple drug-related crimes, according to Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin.

The accused are Dennis Dewayne Malone, 45; Deborah Jett, 46, and Brandis Pugh, 29.

Malone faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle. He is being held in Morgan County jail under bonds totaling $15,000.

Jett was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine and is being held in jail under a $2,500 bond.

Pugh was arrested for two outstanding warrants:  unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to provide insurance. She was also charged with obstructing justice and providing a false identity. She is being held under bonds totaling $5,500.

Sheriff Franklin said the Morgan County Drug Task Force along with sheriff’s deputies executed an arrest warrant at 85 Seagroves Road for Malone on two felony charges. They obtained a search warrant for the residence and located Methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a short-barreled rifle. They also made contact with Pugh and Jett who were found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. All three subjects were arrested and transported to Morgan County Jail.
