How are you doing with New Year’s resolutions

It’s the second month into the year and how are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions? I seem to always make the same ones each year. However, this year I chose to add new ones. These affect others as well as myself. I want to be more encouraging than discouraging. I want to uplift those that I come in contact with. Next on my list, don’t be too quick to judge. In Matthew 7:1 Jesus teaches about critizing others. Judge not, that ye be not judged. Jesus tells us to check-up on our own life instead of judging others. May we always be willing to judge our own life before we critize someone else.

Our community was saddened recently with the passing of a dear sweet lady, Mrs. Mary Posey. She was gifted when it came to growing flowers. She loved working with them. Christian love and sympathy is extended to her husband, Buddy Posey of Hartselle; a son, Kenneth Posey of Hartselle; two daughters, Donna Terry (Marlon) and Lenita Bracken (Ricky), both of Hartselle. She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas Clifton Milam and Mamie Virginia Gilbert Milam; a son, Kelvis “Bud” Posey; a brother, Bill Milam; and a sister, Linda Sparks.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Ronnie Ferguson and C. L. Moore on Feb. 6, Jackie Teague on Feb. 7, Sheena Dugger on Feb. 8, Haley Clark on Feb. 9, Jon Mast and Gail Day on Feb. 10, Joanna Borden, Pamela Robinson and Tim Smith on Feb. 11 and Angela Schmidt and Peyton Legg on Feb. 12.
