Evelyn Mildred Anzelone

Funeral for Evelyn Mildred Anzelone, 79, of Hartselle was Mon., Feb. 3, at East Highland Baptist Church with Peck Funeral directing.

Burial was Tues., Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville.

Mrs. Anzelone died Fri., Jan. 31, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, where she spent the last several weeks of her life battling respiratory issues. She was born Evelyn Mildred Boyer July 1, 1934, in Womelsdorf, PA, where she grew up at the Bethany Children’s Home. She eventually attended nursing school and was awarded a nursing degree. She worked at several medical institutions and eventually retired from the University of Alabama Birmingham’s- Kirklin Clinic. She was a talented piano and organ player and a very dedicated church member at several churches in the Birmingham area. Later, she regularly attended East Highland Baptist Church. She had a large extended family and a great void has been created in the lives of her family.

She is survived by three sisters and a brother, all out-of-state; three children, Robert Parker (Gail) of McCalla, Brenda Channel (Rick) of Lincoln and Belinda Logan (Tony) of Hartselle; six grandchildren, Phillip Parker (Becky), Brandon Stearns (Kat), Adam Logan, Brianna Logan, Heath Channell (Michelle) and Chris Channell; and five great-grandchildren, Blakely, Kendall and Karrington Channell and Autumn and Kaelyn Stearns.
