Funeral for Jonathan Kevin Johnson, 29, of Decatur will be Wed. (today), Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Tubbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Johnson died Thurs., Jan. 9, 2014, in Limestone County. He was born Aug. 13, 1984, in Decatur. He was a 2003 graduate of Brewer High School and a U.S. Army veteran, earning the rank of sergeant. He served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was well respected by all of his peers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.C. and Reba Johnson.

He is survived by a son, Jacob Johnson of Decatur; a daughter; Madison Nixon of Danville; his mother; Connie Johnson of Decatur; his father, Allen Clem of Hartselle; and a brother; Kody Smith of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Donald Harvey, Kody Smith, Nik Langley, Adam Garrison, Bruce Stephens, Lamont Jackson and Jonathan Larue.
