William E. “Bill” Lorance

Funeral or William E. “Bill” Lorance, 87, of Okla., will be Sat., Jan. 11, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Lamar Gerstman, Wesley Stewart, Parker Stewart, and Rev. Cecil Berry officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., Jan.11, from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Lorance died on Sun., Jan. 5, 2014 at Midwest Regional Medical Center in Oklahoma. He was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Morgan County to Marvin Roth Lorance and Annie Mae Berry Lorance. He was a self employed Finance Manager. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace (Bullard) Lorance, a son, Jerry Lorance, a daughter, Beverly York; an infant daughter, Joyce Catherine Lorance; and his parents.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Lorance, of Somerville and Bruce Lorance of Moulton; two daughters, Gaylon Compton of Okla. and Sharon Gerstman of Decatur; three sisters, Virginia Green and Frances Bishop, both of Decatur and Ann Entrekin of  Ga.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephew.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
