Brandon Phillip Smith, 27, of 2014 Rescue Road in the Union Grove community was arrested and charged with assault second degree. He is currently in the Morgan County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Morgan County Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to 2014 Rescue Road Wednesday. After speaking to persons at the residence, a bulletin was issued for a vehicle containing the suspect and another individual.

The deputies located the vehicle and took the occupants into custody.

Two investigators responded to the deputies’ location while a third proceeded to the hospital where the victim was being treated.

Authorities recovered a folding knife that they believe was used in the incident. The victim was treated and released.

All persons involved in the incident live at the home on Rescue Road.
