Kathryn Turner Slaten

Funeral for Kathryn Turner Slaten, 85, of Somerville was Sat., Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Ron Manly and Tommy Smothers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery.

Mrs. Slaten died Tues., Nov. 26, 2013, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 29, 1927, in Morgan County to Jesse Turner and Nona Crow Turner. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Slaten.

She is survived by four sons, Jerry Slaten and wife Paula of Somerville, Don Slaten and wife Patricia of Somerville, David Slaten of Lawrenceburg, Tenn. and Ted Slaten and wife Venassa of Somerville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Michael Slaten, Josh Slaten, Tyler Berry, Patrick Tilley and Alex Biehn.

Honorary pallbearers were Logan Tilley and Carson Levario-Slaten.
