Reach out to welcome change

I know that you’ve heard me say this before, but I don’t like change. I love my comfort zone. However, we often need to welcome change. Many times, it’s difficult to accept it because of what it might involve. One thing that we can be sure of is God doesn’t change. In Malachi 3:6 He tells us for I am the Lord, I change not. Since God does not change, we can always rely on Him when we go through those changes. God is our refuge, and strength and a present help in trouble. He will never leave us or forsake us.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to JoAnn and Milton Montgomery in the loss of JoAnn’s uncle, Ben Johnson.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the Maples cousins at New Center in the loss of their first cousin, Martha Gail Maples Turney. Services for Mrs. Turney were Mon., Nov. 11.

My sister, Kaye Widner and I traveled to St. Louis, Mo. to visit with niece and daughter, Kaye Widener. We enjoyed sightseeing, shopping and catching up on things.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Greg Bradford, Carson Hatfield and Stephen Champion on Nov. 21 and Brenda Maples on Nov. 24.

Happy anniversary to Randall and Melinda McCleskey on Nov. 21 and Kathy and Chuck Ray on Nov. 22.

In a few days, we will celebrate Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Now is the time to reflect over the past year and count your blessings. Also, during this holiday season, it’s important to spend time with family and friends. I always enjoy family get-togethers where we can spend time together to reminisce, get caught up on the latest and make new memories.
