Betty Laney Johnson

Funeral for Betty Laney Johnson, 82, of Hartselle was Mon., Nov.11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Jimmy Legg and Wayne Penn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Herring Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson died Fri., Nov. 8, 2013, at Summerford Nursing Home.She was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Morgan County to Vadie Clarence Laney and Lucy Farris Fitzgerald. She was a member of Cedar Plains Christian Church. Mrs. Johnson was formerly a real estate broker for Century 21.

She is survived by her husband, Ruel Hoyt Johnson of Massey; two sons. Ruel Keith Johnson and wife Melissa of Massey and Kent Laney Johnson and wife Sandy of Hartselle; a daughter, Valerie Johnson Williamson and husband Len of Massey; two brothers, Arwin Laney and wife Martha of Falkville and Hal Laney and wife Billie of Danville; six grandchildren, Andrea Williamson, Garrett Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Andrew Williamson, Challie Johnson and Ashton Johnson.

Pallbearers were Garrett Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Andrew Williamson, Darrin Speegle, Tim Laney, Brett Speegle, Ashton Johnson and Phillip Penn.
