Elmer John Boger

Funeral for Elmer John Boger, 89, of Decatur will be Sun., Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. at Flint Church of Christ with Chris Pressnell and Nicky Pressnell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Boger died Thurs., Oct. 31, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1924, in Lawrence County to Julius Claudie Boger and Evie Elsie Callahan Boger. Mr. Boger attended Flint Church of Christ and Austinville Church of Christ. He loved and supported the Christian Camp for the deaf and was a member for 50 plus years. He was retired from Decatur Utilities after 38 years of service and was a member of the Decatur Utilities Retirement Club. The hobbies he loved were hunting, fishing and Alabama Football. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loree Boger; and his parents.

He is survived by two sons, John Boger and wife Julie of Hartselle and Don Boger and wife Lisa of Athens; two brothers, Norman Boger and J.C. Boger and wife Helen of Hartselle; a sister, Foree McCaghren of Decatur; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shane Boger, Logan Boger, Doug Andrews, Ronnie Lewis,Danny Turrentine, and Shawn Jayne.
