A long and deafening shout out against drugs and bullying was expressed by Hartselle’s K-6 students at a Red Ribbon Day Pep Rally on Friday.

For emphasis, the event was conducted at Hartselle High School’s competition gym where it had the vocal support of band members, cheerleaders and other student leaders.

School Resource Officers Michael Hudson and Chad Guest planned, coordinated and kept the rally moving at a fast and loud pace.

Elementary students carried “Say No to Drugs” signs and were seated in different bleacher sections of the gym

Red Ribbon Week is observed nationally Oct. 23-31 under the theme “A Healthy Me is Drug Free.”

Sponsored by the National Family Partnership, it is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation.
