Eddy, Compton finish 4th, 5th in State Junior Championship

Two Hartselle golfers finished in the top five of the 50th Girls State Junior Championship at Decatur Country Club, which ended Thursday.

Arin Eddy was 13 shots off the lead to take fourth place with a 227 for 14 over par. Beth Ann Compton tied for fifth place with a 231 for 18 over par.

Eddy performed well on Par 3 holes during the tournament, turning in an overall score of +1 those holes. She was +8 on Par 4s and +5 on Par 5s.

She finished with five birdies and 36 pars for the championship.

Compton was strongest on the Par 4s, finishing +3 on those holes. She was +7 on Par 3s and +8 on Par 5s. For the tournament, Compton had six birdies and 28 pars in the 54-hole event.
