Vacation Bible School a summer tradition

School is out and summer is almost here. What does that mean? You’re right, vacation Bible school, sponsored by our local churches. Growing up, I always looked forward to the week of VBS. At the time, we lived in Decatur and for the week of Bible school we would stay with Mamaw and PawPaw Maples who lived at New Center, so we could go to Bible school. We would always have such a great time. We would listen to and learn Bible verses, make crafts and we always had all the cookies and Kool-aid we wanted. Many of the wonderful ladies that took the time to help with VBS are no longer with us, but I will always be grateful for the time I spent with them. Check out your local paper because many of the vacation Bible schools are listed. If not, call the local churches. Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Donnie Graham and Ralph Blankenship.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Aaron Rogers and Tina Lemmond on June 14, Pete Wilson on June 15, Anthony Rogers, Sherry Adcock, Leona Fortinberry and Katie Reeves on June 16, Burgess Smith, Glenda Lamberti and Amanda Austin Lacy on June 17, Gracie Clemons and Garrett Roberts on June 18 and Colton Childers and J.R.
