Woman charged, another wanted in Falkville bust

The Morgan County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Friday at 616 E Piney Grove Road in Falkville that resulted in the arrest of a Falkville woman while another man is wanted.

Patrol deputies responded to a call at the residence of Phillip Scott Smith, 53, of Falkville, where they discovered items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. The MCDTF located a one-pot meth lab, reagents, manufacturing equipment, 31 marijuana plants, three firearms and a quantity of methamphetamine that well exceeds the minimum standard for trafficking in methamphetamine.

Agents arrested and charged Heather Deann Tatum, 33, with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance 1st degree, trafficking in methamphetamine, unlawful possession of marijuana 1st degree and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Agents and deputies were unable to apprehend Smith. He is wanted for active warrants on the same charges as Tatum. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Smith, call the Morgan Count Sheriff’s Office at 256-301-1175.
