Scott, Newby to wed Saturday

Bobby and Melinda Scott of Somerville announce the engagement of their daughter, Bobbie Jean “B.J.,” to Philip Bradley Newby, son of Brad and Tracy Newby of Lacey’s Spring.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bob and Linda Elliott of Lacey’s Spring, the late William Bibb Jennings and the late Thomas and Lois Scott.

She is the 2011 graduate of Brewer High School and attends The University of Alabama for a degree in elementary education. She attends Valhermoso Baptist Church in Valhermoso and Five Points Baptist in Northport and works for Dorroh Associates law firm in Tuscaloosa.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Joe and Faye Carlisle of Lacey’s Spring, Steve and Barbara Newby of Huntsville, Timothy and Rowena Kinard of Section and the late Eddie Phillips.

He is a 2011 graduate of Brewer High School and attends The University of Alabama for a degree in languages and is a member of the Air Force ROTC. He attends Valhermoso Baptist Church in Valhermoso and Five Points Baptist in Northport and works for Advance Automotive in Tuscaloosa.

The wedding will be Sat., May 4, 2013, in Somerville.
