Holmes, Stephenson named AU Ag Ambassadors

Sixteen Auburn University students have been selected to officially represent Auburn’s College of Agriculture as Ag Ambassadors for the 2013-14 academic year.

The coming year’s Ag Ambassadors, their class and their majors include Ashley Holmes of Falkville and Sarah Stephenson of Hartselle.

Holmes is a junior majoring in agriscience education. Stephenson is a sophomore majoring in poultry science.

Ag Ambassadors are a select group of students committed to enhancing the image and increasing public awareness of the College of Ag, Auburn University and Alabama agriculture and agribusiness. In addition to assisting with college- and university-sponsored events, Ag Ambassadors are involved in recruiting quality high school and junior college students to the College of Ag.

Students who are majoring in the College of Agriculture or in the College of Education’s agriscience education program and who have a recommended 3.0 GPA can apply to become an ambassador. Applicants must submit letters of recommendation and interest essays and, on request, must make a presentation on the college and Auburn and field questions from a panel of faculty and current ambassadors.
