John E. “Pete” Ward

Funeral service for John E. “Pete” Ward, 95, will be Friday, April 5, 2013

at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Blackman officiating

and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the

funeral home.

Mr. Ward died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born

September 28, 1917, in Morgan County to Columbus Gabriel Ward and Etta

(Dobbs) Ward. Mr. Ward was married for 65 years to the love of his life,

Rachel Fay Sims. He was a veteran of World War II in the 4th Infantry. He

was a member of East Highland Baptist Church and retired from Wolverine

Tube. He loved Alabama Football, Atlanta Braves, and spending time with his

family.

his Wife, Rachel Sims Ward, Hartselle, AL

 

One Son:

Del Ward, (Anita), Hartselle, AL

One Daughter:

Bonnie Weinman, (Doug), Hartselle, AL

Four Grandchildren:

Kris Ward, (Melissa), Hartselle, AL,

Nick Ward, (Cindy), Knoxville, TN,

Bo Weinman, (Kim), Decatur, AL, and

Alison Black, (Jeff), Hartselle, AL

Six Great Grandchildren:

Tyde, Luke, and Lillie Ward, and

Turner, Samantha, and Emerson Weinman

Pallbearers will be Bill Smelser, Billy McAbee, Joe Ward, Joe Garrison, Don

Hall, and Dudley White .

Honorary Pallbearers will be will be Mr. Ward’s Sunday School Class.
