Community Calendar for Jan. 30

Jan. 31

Hartselle Junior High School will send home progress reports on Jan. 31.

Hartselle Softball registration will be Jan. 31, Feb. 7 and Feb. 14 from 6-8 p.m. and Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. until noon. Registration fee is $85.

Hartselle Men’s Basketball League, ages 18 and over, deadline for forms and $500 registration fee, are due Jan. 31 at Sparkman Civic Center.

 

Feb. 1

Coupon Class fee due to reserve spot at civic center Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.

 

Feb. 2

Winterfest at Barkley Bridge Elementary School will be Sat., Feb. 2. The event will feature lunch, concessions, inflatables, games, the silent auction and more. This fundraiser is one of the students’ favorite days of the school year.

 

Feb. 3

Hartselle High School will have a Curriculum Seminar for parents for the 2013-2014 school year at 1:30 p.m. Students will also have the opportunity to go to information meeting on Dress for Success and Scholarship and resume help at 1:30.

 

Feb. 4

A coupon class will be at the civic center Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.. Ron and Traci DeWeese will share their knowledge on how to save 50% on the grocery bill. Please register and pay $10 fee no later than Feb. 1 to reserve your spot.

 

Feb. 5

Spring Soccer registration will be Feb. 5, 12 and 19 from 6-8 p.m. and Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. until noon. If you played in the Hartselle AYSO Fall League, registration is $30. New player fee is $55. All players must be 4 1/2-19 years old by Aug. 1.

 

Hartselle Baseball and T-ball (for 4-year-olds) signups for the upcoming spring season will be held on the following Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sparkman Civic Center: Feb. 5, 12 and 19. Baseball is $90, T-ball is $50. For more information, call Sparkman Civic Center or Ashley Balch 256-518-6142.

 

HHS staff will present information to parents and students of the 8th grade on New Diploma and requirements for 2013-2014 school year. Meetings will be at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the junior high for anyone interested .

 

Feb. 7

Hartselle High School will have a blood drive on Feb. 7 in the girls gym.

 

Barkley Bridge Elemen-tary School will participate in the Great American Shakeout earthquake drill on Feb. 7 at 10:15 a.m.

 

A Valentine’s Day Pinterest Party will be Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center. Making crafts and cards for upcoming Valentine’s parties. A $10 fee includes all needed supplies and a sample to take home. Register and pay fee by Feb. 4.

 

An American Red Cross Blood Drive for Morgan-Lawrence Chapter, 431 Holly St., NE, Decatur, will be 11 to 5 p.m.

Feb. 8

Sparkman Civic Center is having its Annual Valentine’s Dance Fri., Feb. 8, from 7 to 11 p.m.. The fee is $5 per person. A king and queen will be elected at 9 p.m. There will be a gift table to purchase gifts for your sweetheart. Pictures can be purchased at $5 each. We need more parent chaperones. Hartselle City Schools will have a Teacher Collaboration/Data Day on Fri., Feb. 8. Students will be dismissed at noon.

 

Crestline Elementary School will issue progress reports on Feb. 8.

 

Princess Theatre welcomes Les Kerr and the Bayou Band at 7:30 p.m. Ticket are $20 – $25

 

Feb. 11

Fry Gaillard talk/book signing ‘The Books that Mattered’, at the Princess Theatre 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. Teachers and students $5.

 

Feb. 12

Feb. 14

The Princess Theatre welcomes The Del McCoury Band Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25-$33. The Del McCoury Band is a living link to the days when bluegrass was made only in hillbilly honkytonks, schoolhouse shows and the Grand Ole Opry. The legendary bluegrass band is celebrating 50 years with its 2011 Grammy nominated CD a tribute to Bill Monroe.
